写作一个好的教学计划

Teaching statement是教学的思想指引，而不是简单的教学经历陈述，所以，更多的要讨论经验和要点，而不是讲述过去。在网上搜索到一些相关的信息，总结如下：

1. 如果你做教师的经验不是很多，那么，就想想你上过的那么多门课，有哪些老师在你看来是优秀而有效的，是哪些老师让你能够这么多年留在学校里，熬出这么个博士的，他们的思想，有什么共同之处？

2. 问自己一些具体的问题，好比：
What do you believe about teaching?
What do you believe about learning? Why?
How is that played out in your classroom?
How does student identity and background make a difference in how you teach?
What do you still struggle with in terms of teaching and student learning?

3. 回想一下，你有没有不喜欢的老师？他们又有什么特点？

4. teaching philosophy 和 teaching style又是有着微妙区别的部分，不同的学校，style可能要因地制宜。研究每个要申请的学校，了解他们的课堂人数多少，学生的层次和水平，其他老师可能放在网上的教学理念，这样能够知道在你的statement里面，要强调哪一些方面。

5. 不要重复CV上的内容，强调你是如何有效的教学的。忠告："to focus not so much on what courses you've taught, but on how it is you go about teaching,"

6. 切切不要说空话，要给出例子，言之有物，不要说“正确”的话，而要说有内容的话。
网上给出的范例："If you say you work to encourage collaboration in the classroom, then explain how you do that, or if you're a new teacher, how you would do that," she says. "It's easy to say, 'I want to encourage collaboration in the classroom,' or 'I want to get students to think more critically' and leave it at that. But who doesn't want to do that?"

7. 鼓励举一些具有领域特点的事例，针对特定的科目，有些什么创造性的想法可以提出来，能够吸引你的读者。

8. 适当的谦虚语气才更加真实。

9. 不要用拉丁名言开头，让人家觉得很夸张和arrogant（中文大概也一样）。

10. 切记要以学生为主，要正面和充满热情的提到他们

11. 内容：

• your conception of teaching and learning
• a description of how you teach
• justification for why you teach that way

12. Include teaching strategies and methods to help people “see” you in the classroom.

13. Make it memorable and unique
