Boston Marathon

This Monday, I set out with my parents and the baby to cheer Boston Marathon runners along the route. The marathon is a famous one, supposely the first in modern marathon history. I've read so much about it and dreamt of participating one some time later in my life. Not this year, but hopefully soon enough.

Newton, where we live, is along the middle of this 42.195 km - 26.2 mile race. And it so happen that we view the whole competition at the 18 mile point.
The first wave started with wheelcar runner. They are defective physically, but they are certainly very strong emotionally. I just cannot quite belive they had come so far but still with such amazing energy. The winner is from South Africa this year. What an achievement!
But this is my favorite picture of this old man. It captured the vigor and I love the inspiration beyond that.Women's top 4

Men's first when passing us, but he is not the champion. He looked back.

With a light heart...
